Ramadan: SECRET MUSLIMS-GOOD READ FOR EVERYONE!!

Assalamu Alaikum,

I just read a post about a young muslima who have not told her parents about her being muslim. She covers her head sometimes, and not all the time. This is not a story that is new to me, or that I haven't heard, but one that I cry at.

We are Muslims. We are not kaffrs. We are the chosen people. We were giving the qur'an-THE TRUTH. When we testify to the shahada we are muslims. Our lives change. Our lifestyle change. Our clothing change(muslimahs). Our friends change. Who we are change. Its not good enough to recite the shahada and call it quits. No, its deeper.

ALLAHSWT tells us in the qur'an that we will be tested with everything dear to us(family, wealth, job, and children, etc). He continues to say, "Do you think you will not be tested like the people before you?". Subhan'ALLAH. As Muslims, we are tested everyday of our lives. Do you think this life is about happiness and bliss? No. We are tested to prove our love to ALLAH. WE are tested to gain the pleasure of ALLAH.

Sisters, you put your hijab on and cover yo naked body. Brothers, wear your beard and do not cut it for it is fard and not sunnah. The ProphetSAW tells the brothers to, "trim the mustache and keep the beard (bukhari)". This is a command from ALLAHSWT! Brothers, keep those beards.

We have to stand firm upon this deen of ALLAHSWT. The qur'an tells us that this dunya(this world) is nothing but amusement and play. ALLAHSWT warns us of this. He tells us this in clear english for the english speaking people. Why do you not take heed?

I am a convert myself and know the struggle. Wallahi, I do, but you must not give up because you are a Muslim. Stand strong and practice the deen as ALLAHSWT commanded of you.

Hold firm to the rope of ALLAH? DO you take your parents dearer than ALLAH? Do you take your wealth dearer than ALLAH? Do you take that job dearer to ALLAH? Fear him, but hold close to him!

  2. What you say is nothing short of the truth. However I have seen this countless times. People trying to implement every Sunnah they can trying to learn every hadith possiable. All comendable things none the less once a person plunges into the water they burn themselves out eventually. Maybe not a couple of months from now but a year.
What is recommended is to lets say learn one hadith and practice implementing in their life. Not learning a 100 and only practicing a doze. Things take due time, change should never be forced.

On a nother note we don't know the situations of other muslims in their daily life. But Allah SWT does. We should not judge others in a negative way saying just because their parents don't know yet that they are muslim that we are any better then them. Allah doesn't burden someone more then they can handle. There is a saying when you see a older person you think they are better then me they have done more deeds then i have and a younger person they are better then me they have commited less sins then I.

Sometimes a person may they think they are doing good, giving good nasheeha *advice* but they can be doing the opposite. Allah Alm.

May Allah guide us both to the truth Ameen.

  3. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“Religion is easy, and no one overburdens himself in his religion but he will be unable to continue in that way. So do not be extremists, but try to be near perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded. Gain strength by worshipping in the mornings and afternoons and during the last hours of the night.”

  4. Sister Banana: Well, if the shoe fits apply it or if it doesnt then discard it. If the situation sounds similar to a sister of yours, then alhumdulilah apply it, but if not then don't worry too much about it.

Light: Yes, its very important that we just don't memorize qur'an and sunnah, but to implement it into our lives. I had to learn that too, alhumdulilah. ALLAHSWT loves the strong muslim more than the weak one. It makes sense. A strong muslim sacrifices for the sake of ALLAHSWT and is certain in faith versus a weak muslim who doesn't strive as much to get close to ALLAH.
